Dear Visitor,
my name is Winfried Schrödter. I was born on 6th November 1954 in Münster (Westphalia) where my Berlin-born parents ended up after the Second World War. After school I did my – back then mandatory – military service in Flensburg-Weiche which I voluntarily extended to become an officer[1], my studies of geodesy incl. cartography in Bonn[2] and the preparatory for the civil service in many places in North Rhine-Westphalia[3]. From 1986 to 2015 I worked, first as an employee, from 1994 as a civil servant, in the Military Geographic Service, from 2002 Bundeswehr Geoinformation Service in Cologne. In 2015, I married, retired[4], and moved to Dortmund.
My projects comprise
- the edition of my dad's diary from the Second World War
and – relic of my longtime activity –
- a study on the history of AIR GEOGRAPHY, PHOTOGRAMMETRY, CHARTING AND SURVEYING IN THE GERMAN AIR FORCES 1888-2002.
