12. Juni 1947
12 June. Wage payment 8 months in arrears. Additional rations (bread) 2 weeks in arrears. We were cheated again by 14 days in the new regulation of additional rations. - Tougher measures to increase work performance.[1] Punishment of bad workers (Geneva!). The Russian simply insinuates sabotage as a reason for the punishment. In case of self-mutilation (and he suspects it in almost every injury) he even threatens a war tribunal. So if you have the misfortune to crush a finger or toe at work (as happened), the Russian may still threaten you with a trial.
Strength decreases: visual acuity, hearing, memory. Disturbances of equilibrium. Increased sensitivity to the weather in the weakened body.
June 1947. Barrack collapsed in main camp 218[2]. 12 dead, 25 injured. Was it rotten or had too many important parts been used as firewood?
