17 Nov. In the last seven days, a total of 900 g of bread was given per man. That is 1 1/2 day's rations. Landsers collapse from hunger. The Lord's Prayer for daily bread takes on a current meaning. Theme 1 is now no longer the woman, but the food and the calorie chart. The soups are so thin that you can see all the way to the bottom of the mess kit. It's really almost just water. Yet these soups are actually our main meal and should be a thick porridge. So all that's left is bread, but even bread we don't get at all for days. The jubilation in the barracks is understandable when someone has seen the vehicle: "Flour has arrived!" Some keep standing at the window and casting longing glances over to the bakery. And when the chimney smokes, the cry goes through the barracks: "They're baking bread!" [1].
