XXXXIX. (Geb.)A.K. again[1] |
Today[2] we cycle via Jusefpol(?)[3] to Nowa Ukrainka, a small town. We pass a large mill factory. At the entrance there is a sign: "Seized by Panzer Group Kleist". In a nearby farmhouse we take our rations, which this time include a bar of chocolate. In Nowa Ukrainka I get my hair cut at a maintenance company.

- ↑ Korpsbefehl Nr. 80 vom 15.8.41 15.00 Uhr (KTB 257. I.D., NARA T-315 Roll 1803 Frame 000595)
- ↑ probably on 15 Aug 1941: On the 15th early the first parts of the motorised marching group reached Nowa Ukrainka (KTB 257th I.D., NARA T-315 Roll 1803 Frame 000590); he could not have arrived there before. He already spent the night from the 16th to the 17th in Kirova.
- ↑ The question mark was put by the author himself, and rightly so: It cannot have been Jusefpol, because the divisional headquarters was already further ahead, until the 15th in Lysaya Gora (Frame 000583), and from the 15th on in Rownoje (Frame 000585).
