Geography

The Trinian Empire is located in the region known to Trinians as Avacia, being the southern areas of the Longerathian continent. It is an irregularly formed country, not keeping to the contours of the land and only occasionally to the boundaries of ethnicity, with the component areas of the state having come together mainly through differing more from all their other neighbours than from each other.
The most notable geographic feature of the Trinian Empire is the Velamnian mountain range, running through the center of the country, dividing it in two. These mountains are high, cold, and are notorious in Trinia for their difficult terrain and unfriendly conditions. Nevertheless, they are home to the old Velamnian civilization, which has been in place longer than any other surviving in Trinia today. Other small mountains and hills are scattered throughout the country.
In the west lies Trinia's only connection with the sea. Despite being a moderate size and being in fairly close proximity to the sea on several fronts, it is only in a small area that the nation has direct contact with the water. This occurs in the province of Vulni, and in the island-based autonomous province of Vaere. Indeed, this contact to the sea has been highly important, with sea trading being the basis for the prosperity and thus power wielded by Kurin, our capital city.
